Description: Visibility of less than 2 feet. No stripe to follow on the bottom. Everyone kicking you and flailing their arms all around you. Choppy water trying to splash in your mouth at every breath. Cold water . . . these are just some of the concerns we will address in this workshop.
Open water swimming can be a fun and exhilarating activity, provided you know what you're doing. You can stretch out your stroke and get into a rhythm that you can't achieve when there are walls every 25 or 50 meters. USAT Level II certified triathlon coach and lifeguard John Stewart will also instruct the class in basic open water swim and tri race skills including but not limited to sighting, getting into your wetsuit, drafting, dealing with waves, swimming straight, signaling for help and staying relaxed. You will finish the class much more confident and comfortable in your ability to swim safely and continuously in the open water than when you began. The class is designed for 1.5 hours but allow 2 hours as there is a lot of material to cover. This workshop is an absolute must for triathletes with limited or no open water experience.
This class will be limited to 15 participants so don't delay in registering as it will fill up quickly. We've schedule four workshops this summer, EACH one day workshop is $55. Please review your calendar prior to registering for one of our workshops as there are NO REFUNDS for our one day workshops if for ANY reason you do not participate.
