Description: With the Summer right around the corner (yes it is!), NOW is the time to make a plan to reach your personal health and fitness goals! JackRabbit can help you turn your resolutions into reality with our Beginning Running programs. This program begins where Running Level I leaves off (although you needn't have participated in Level I to join!). In this fun and challenging 10 week program, we will meet twice per week and begin very slowly as we progress toward our goal of running a local road race.
We recommend that you already be able to run 2 miles continuously, regardless of pace. Increased attention will be given to improve endurance and understanding the importance of pacing as we work toward our goal of running 6 miles continuously by program completion. Our group workouts provide you with a safe, positive and supportive environment in which to take your fitness to the next level. We will provide online guidance and direction in the form of structured workouts/'homework' for you to do in between our regular group meetings. Towards the end of class we will select a local road race in which to participate. There is no obligation to participate in the goal race but we like to use it as extra motivation througout the program and we will of course be with you on race day for support and encouragement

Days/Times/Dates: Every Wednesday from 6:45-7:45pm and Saturday from 8:30-9:30am from June 12th thru August 17th.
Where: Class meet at JackRabbits UWS store at 140 West 72nd Street between Broadway & Columbus where you can change clothes and keep you belongings during class. The workouts will take place in Central Park
*All JackRabbit programs are adult only and person must be 18 years of age by the first day of class. Only registered adults may participate and dogs and strollers are not welcome.
