With Summer right around the corner (yes, it is!), NOW is the time to make a plan to reach your personal health and fitness goals! JackRabbit can help you turn your resolutions into reality with our Beginning Running programs. This program begins where Running Level I leaves off (although you needn't have participated in Level I to join!). In this fun and challenging 10 week program, we will meet twice per week and begin very slowly as we progress toward our goal of running a local road race.
We recommend that you already be able to run 2.0 miles continuously, regardless of pace. Increased attention will be given to improved endurance and understanding the importance of pacing. Our group workouts provide you with a safe, positive and supportive environment in which to take your fitness to the next level as we woprk toward our goal of running 6 miles continuously by program completion. We will provide online guidance and direction in the form of structured workouts/'homework' for you to do in between our regular group meetings. Towards the end of class we will select a local road race in which to participate. There is no obligation to participate in the goal race but we like to use it as extra motivation througout the program and we will of course be with you on race day for support and encouragement.
ALL of our classes are held outdoor and we run in the rain, snow, and whatever temperature mother nature throws our way.
Day/Date/Time: Every Monday & Thursday evening from 6:45-7:45pm starting June 10th thru August 15th, with NO class Thursday, July 4th.
Where: Wednesdays we will meet at our Upper East Side store located at 84th St & Lexington Ave where you can change clothes or store your belongings during class. Saturdays we will meet at the 5th Ave entrance to the park and we ask you to come ready to run on the weekend.
*All JackRabbit programs are adult only and person must be 18 years of age by the first day of class. Only registered adults may participate and dogs and strollers are not welcome.
