SPRINT Distance Tri Training for First Time Triathletes
If you've been wanting to participate in the triathlon craze that has been sweeping NYC the last couple years but weren't sure how to get started, this is the program for you! Our 10-week triathlon training program meets twice per week and will focus on combining all three disciplines so that you have a safe, fun, and empowering race day. We're focusing this program on a local Sprint distance race, the Flat as a Pancake sprint distance race on June 9th. If however that is not your chosen race, this program is also a great fit for any late-May through mid-June race. Time will be devoted to swimming, cycling, and running as well as the equally important but often over-looked transitions. While we have developed this program for first time triathletes, please note that it is not for first time athletes. As such, anyone looking to participate MUST be able to swim continuously for 10 minutes in the freestyle/crawl stroke, bike continuoulsy for 30 minutes, and run continuously for 15 minutes, regardless of speed or lack thereof.
Our basic schedule will be every Wednesday at 6:45pm and Saturday mornings at 8:00am. We will run on Wednesday and bike/Brick on Saturdays. The only exception to that schedule will be our TWO group swim workouts. These will take place Monday evening April 16th and April 23rd from 6:30-7:30pm at Seahorse Fitness on the Lower East Side, and the remaining swim instruction will be provided online only.
Ample time is devoted to race day preparation so that if this is your first triathlon, you will be well informed and prepared.
Days/Times: Wednesdays from 6:45-7:45pm and Saturday mornings at 8:00am (and two Monday evening swim sessions)
Dates: April 4th thru June 9th. We will NOT have class Saturday, May 26th for the Memorial Day weekend. Our group swim workouts will be Monday, April 16th and April 23rd from 6:30-7:30pm .

Where: Class will meet at the SW entrance to Central Park in the Columbus Circle area. For those of you coming from work we will provide Bag Watch for our Wednesday evenings workouts.
