Speedwork - Taking It To The Track

Speed training on a track is the best way to break through to the next level of running performance. Jonathan Cane coaches the workouts personally at the Red Hook track, and varies each workout to be appropriate for people with distance goals ranging from 5K to a Marathon.There are no pace limitations for this program we accept runners at almost any speed. However, because of the intensity of speedwork you should have a running base of at least 15 miles per week for the past 3 months in order to avoid injuries to knees and ankles.

Directions:  You can take the F or G to Smith & 9th st stop, walk West on 9th street, turn left onto Court St, walk under 278 Expressway to Bay st, turn righ on bay Street for two blocks and the track is on the left.  You can also take the R train to 4th Ave & 9th Street and follow the above directions, it's just a few block more, about a 12 minutes walk.
