Lee founded JackRabbit to help other people make the same transformation that he has made in the past few years. He decided it was time for a change when he hit 210 lbs and got out of breath going up a flight of stairs. After first choosing running as a way to get in shape and lose weight, Lee fell in love with triathlon and has been hooked ever since. He has done three half-Ironman races, over a dozen sprint and Olympic distance races, more than a dozen half-marathons, and has finished the NYC Marathon. For the past few years Lee has cut back on training and racing to spend time with his wife Teri, and his two children Joshua (3 1/2 years) and Rachel (2 years). He hopes to get back to training and racing for the 2007 season. |

Doug is originally from Ohio where he became involved in competitive sports early on. Doug ran Track & Field and Cross Country through high school and college. He did his first 10K race, the Oktoberfest Classic, in 1982 and his first Olympic distance triathlon in 1986. Since migrating to New York Doug has completed two NYC marathons and gone on to compete in more sprint and middle distance road races, duathlons and biathlons than he can count. When not running Doug loves film, cooking, collecting and recently received his umpire certification with the ASA and can be found both playing and umpiring local softball games on the weekends. |

Terry After being shafted by genetics and realizing that he would never be the next Michael Jordan, Terry signed his lanky self up for his high school track team. However, his true appreciation for running began after he moved to New York City when he found that his hippy college lacked a gym. In order to stay in shape and maintain his girlish figure, he started running and soon found himself toeing the line for the New York Marathon a year later in 2005. Since then, running and triathlon has consumed his life, leaving him with a drumset and a pair of Asics Nimbus 7s as his only friends. |

Greg is originally from Washington State, he moved to New York in February of 2007 and has been with JackRabbit ever since. He is currently a floor manager at our Union Square store. He loves to read, is an avid runner and is passionate about basball - he's seen the movie Field of Dreams 68 times! He applies that same kind of passion to his work here at JackRabbit and really gets a charge out of helping others improve themselves through exercise. |

Johanna started running in 1996 as stress relief from her work researching human rights violations and war crimes. All that travel messed with her training, so she hung up her passport and now obsesses about running shoes while ever-so-slowly gut renovating a Brooklyn row house with her husband and dog, Enzo. She's completed a couple marathons and a bunch of half marathons, but got infected with the triathlon bug after doing the JackRabbit triathlon training program in 2005. When not nursing sprained ankles or other dumb injuries, she sometimes places in local races when the fast girls don't show up. |

Brendan joined JackRabbit Sports in the fall of 2007 and handles the inventory & book-keeping for the company (we are very nice to him on payday!). After graduating from Notre Dame (Go Irish!), Brendan spent 7 lovely years touring the world courtesy of the Marine Corps (Semper Fi!). Then he pursued a career in logistics with stops in Green Bay, WI, Europe, and finally to NYC. While living in Europe for almost five years, Brendan & Kate (his better half!) were able to visit & enjoy many sights/places with favorites being Malta & Iceland. After being fed up with the constant travel, he decided to pursue local opportunities and ensure he had time for his athletic endeavors so JackRabbit Sports was a natural fit. Soccer & Running are his primary outlets and he has a fanatical devotion to the New York Yankees & Rangers (even though Kate is a much better ice skater & hockey player). |

Todd has run in three NYC Marathons, over a dozen half-marathons, three Ironman distance races, and competed in countless shorter distance duathlons and triathlons. Todd is also a poet, having published four volumes of poetry with Soft Skull Press. He's performed his work on PBS, The Whitney Museum, P.S. 122, MTV, and the Poetry Project at St Mark's Church. He was also the lead singer for the critically acclaimed band Drunken Boat. |

Mike's love for running and triathlon grew out of his soccer-playing youth. A Boston-native, he's since moved to New York after a run-in of a different kind—a car trashed his bike, ending his messenger career. JackRabbit was a natural transition, as Park Slope is a great fit for his unfathomable devotion to the Red-Sox. He recently stepped into the role of store manager for our Union Square location and ran Boston where he accomplished his first sub 3 hour marathon. |

Susannah, a native of Yonkers, is back in New York after many years of exploring distant lands like Peru and Texas. While serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in South America, she realized that running is her preferred form of tourism. She completed her first two marathons in Peru and Argentina and plans on many more - if her creaky bones agree. While not changing the world one running shoe at a time, Susannah can be found doing weird things like throwing clay pots or playing handbells. |

Dina joined the JackRabbit team as Apparel Buyer in 2006. A true gymrat at heart and A.F.A.A. certified group fitness instructor, Dina has been a part of the NYC fitness circuit since moving from Boston in 2002, teaching a variety of classes including Boot Camp and Kickboxing. When she's not out hunting for the newest trends and innovations in activewear, Dina, a self proclaimed "try-athlete", participates in various activities including weekly training in Samurai Sword Fighting. |

Shay joined JackRabbit Sports as the Accessory Buyer in 2007. She played team sports all her life, but after college she stumbled into running and somehow found herself in the midst of sprint triathlons along the way. Six marathons later, Shay decided to see if her old, fat self was still capable of completing a tri like her young, agile co-workers. She started with sprints, and has so far won her name group in every race! When Shay isn't doing more work and a better job than everyone else at JackRabbit, she and her husband commute to and from their dog in CT, taking advantage of the time on Metro North to share feelings. |

Troy joined the Jackrabbit staff in the summer of 2006 and is now the Assistant Manager of our Brooklyn Store. Troy began running in college and was inspired to increase his mileage after witnessing the NYC Marathon in 2001. He has completed several marathons since then, including New York, Boston, and Marine Corps (in D.C.). In 2008, he hopes to race in his hometown of Toledo, OH and in Philadelphia, PA (thus completing the Chinatown Bus circuit). When not running loops around Prospect Park, Troy enjoys painting, building Appalachian dulcimers, and Jackrabbit swim classes. Rumor has it there is a triathlon in Troy's future.

Ryan comes to JackRabbit by way of Newburgh, NY and has been working as a Floor Manager at our Union Square store for the past year and a half. Ryan rides his bike to work every day and recently completed the Jay Mountain Challenge, a 33 mile trail run up in Jay, Vermont. Ryan's other passions include death-rock music, tatoos and tight clothing. |

Six years ago, Mary competed in a St. Patrick's Day 10k, without any clear idea as to what an actual "k" was. She miraculously managed to complete the race and to say she got hooked would be a pretty big understatement. Since then Mary has completed 14 marathons, numerous half marathons, one extremely memorable adventure race and one exceptionally scary triathlon. She is currently training for a half-Iron distance triathlon and is very much looking forward to the fall road -racing season. Mary is a certified USATF Running Coach. |
